The main draw to Wabamun is the quick drive from Edmonton (45 minutes). You can be set up with your campfire burning well before you'd arrive at many other campgrounds with similar features. There is a small beach, with two playgrounds nearby. The campsites are a little on the small side, most are quite private, although some are quite close together. Also, you can hear the sound of the highway, so it's a far cray from backcountry camping. There seems to be little, if any enforcement of rules related to noise, but they police the "no alcohol on the beach" rule aggressively. Check in is not enjoyable, the won't let you in the store and there is a healthy mosquito population waiting for those stuck in the line outside. With all that said, it's a nice place to get away for a few days, and you can even run back into the city if you need to. Plus, there is a good cell signal if you need to be reachable. If you have more time and don't need to be close to the city, you're probably better off heading a little further abroad.

Nice place for a quick get away. Water, garbage and washrooms are easy to spot and find and close enough regardless of which site you are on. The site we got was pretty nicely isolated which was perfect for tenting for 2.

Make sure you booka spot way early. Better book a spot online.

Getting the site was a little annoying thou as the website wouldn't allow reservations so it was first come first serve which made it a little scary since it was a possiblity that we couldn't get a site.

Always a great time. Lots of families, fishing is terrible out past the beach, very shallow. The park is very well maintained! Conservation officers are friendly, but look almost like military soliders with all the gear they have. My favorite place to camp.

Spent two week here and loved it. Place for the kids to play and showers. I would just suggest to pay attention to which site you are choosing because some are short and hard to get into with a large trailer
